Performance data

About our school league tables

Compare school performance across England with ranked tables for primary (KS2), secondary (GCSE) and post-16 (A-Level) phases. Sort by attainment, progress and headline DfE metrics including Attainment 8 and Progress 8 for secondary schools.

Primary league tables focus on KS2 reading, writing and maths outcomes. Use phase tabs above the table to switch between primary, secondary and A-Level rankings, then click any school name for a full profile with Ofsted history and admissions context.

KS2, GCSE & A-Level

Three phases cover the full school journey from Year 6 SATs through GCSE and sixth-form results.

Frequently asked questions

What are UK school league tables?
School league tables rank schools by published performance measures from the Department for Education (DfE). They help parents compare attainment and progress, but should always be read alongside Ofsted reports, admissions rules and whether a school suits your child.
What is Attainment 8?
Attainment 8 is the average points score across a pupil's best eight GCSE grades (including English, maths and three English Baccalaureate subjects). It is the headline measure used in secondary school league tables for raw achievement.
What is Progress 8?
Progress 8 measures how much progress pupils make from the end of primary school (KS2) to GCSE, compared with pupils nationally who had similar prior attainment. A positive score means pupils progressed more than expected.
Do you show primary school league tables?
Yes. Switch to the primary phase to view KS2 results including the percentage reaching the expected standard in reading, writing and maths (RWM), plus average scaled scores.
How is this different from the official DfE tables?
FavSchools republishes official DfE data in a searchable, filterable format linked to our school map and comparison tools. Always confirm critical figures on the school's own website or the official Compare School Performance service.
