This policy explains what personal data FavSchools collects, why, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.

Who we are

FavSchools (“we”, “us”) is operated by Bingos International Education Ltd. For any privacy question, contact us at support@favschools.co.uk. We are the data controller for the personal data described below.

What we collect

  • Account data: if you create an account, your email address and authentication details (handled by our auth provider, Supabase).
  • Payment data: if you subscribe, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details; Stripe provides us with limited information such as your subscription status.
  • Usage data: aggregated, privacy-friendly analytics (page views and basic interactions) collected without advertising cookies. See our Cookie Notice.
  • Saved preferences: shortlists and settings you create are stored to provide the service.

How we use it

  • To provide and maintain the service (accounts, shortlists, subscriptions).
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions.
  • To understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it.
  • To respond to your enquiries and feedback.

Our lawful bases are performance of a contract (providing the service you request), our legitimate interests (improving and securing the site) and, where relevant, your consent.

Who we share it with

We use trusted processors to run the service: Supabase (database & authentication), Stripe (payments), Vercel (hosting & analytics) and Mapbox (maps). We do not sell your personal data.

School data

Information about schools shown on FavSchools comes from official public datasets (such as the Department for Education and Ofsted) and is not personal data about you. It is provided for general guidance only.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict use of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any right, email support@favschools.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

Retention

We keep account and subscription data for as long as your account is active, and only as long as needed afterwards to meet legal and accounting obligations.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
